Alliance for the Safety of Prostitutes, 1984.
This was a protest against a campaign by the nimby group Concerned Residents of the West End (CROWE) to force prostitutes off of Davie Street. CROWE succeeded in displacing the street sex trade to more isolated (& therefore dangerous) areas of Vancouver. A previous crackdown on soliciting in venues like the Penthouse in the 1970s pushed many prostitutes out on to the streets.
